The Westshore Rebels recruit local youth and high school players and have also recruited a number of players from across Canada, US and Europe for the 2024 season. We require assistance housing these athletes and are seeking room rentals, partial and/or full billet families.
Billeting can be a rewarding experience for both the player and family. Many families and players have continued the relationships long after the player has graduated from playing junior football.
Players pay room rentals and/or billet fees, and the team provides two regular season tickets for each family.
If you are interested in providing a room rental or a billet, the Rebels would love to hear from you! Please contact our Housing Coordinator at housing@westshorerebels.ca
General Information
HOUSE, APARTMENT OR ROOM RENTALS
This option includes renting a house, apartment or room coordinated by the housing coordinator. Many of our 3rd and 4th year players have lived independently and would prefer to secure rental accommodations.
Room rentals include providing a room, internet, amenities and inviting the player for dinners and family activities as their schedule allows. Room rentals may include partial or full meals for an additional cost (eg. partial or full billet), or players may opt to be responsible for preparing their own meals.
BILLETS
Billet families provide players with a home away from home. Billeting can be a rewarding experience for both the player and billet. Many families and players have continued the relationships long after the player has graduated from playing junior football. Billeting is often the preferred housing option for our 1st or 2nd year players in the age 17-18 year old range as they transition to living on their own.
In addition to providing a room, internet, amenities, meals and occasional transportation, the billet family provides an environment of support and trust for the players. Billet families help support the development of these young athletes, as they pursue their personal, educational and/or professional goals.
Many players are recent high school graduates and/or have never lived away from home. Billet families provide accommodation and a “family" atmosphere for players that range in age from 17-22.
Player Guidelines
Players are expected to be model tenants at all times and must adhere to team code of conduct, curfews and must abide by all house rules as established their billet family.
Players are responsible to be on time for their own appointments such as school, doctor, practices, games, team functions, etc. Some players may have their own transportation, however where possible, billet families may need to assist with transportation, as and if required.
Billet families are not responsible to provide accommodations for players’ family and friends when they are in town.
