Westshore Rebels Introduce New Head Coach for the 2025 Season
Langford, BC – February 10, 2025 – The Westshore Rebels, in conjunction with their title sponsor Viking Properties, are excited to announce Connor Bryan as the new Head Coach for the 2025 season. Bryan, a former Rebels player and experienced coach, will take over leadership of the team following the departure of Head Coach Mark Townsend this week.
After a successful year with the Rebels, Coach Townsend is moving forward with a new opportunity that aligns with his coaching aspirations. Under his leadership, the Rebels made it back to the Cullen Cup in the BC Football Conference (BCFC) in 2024, and the organization is grateful for his dedication and contributions to the program.
Stepping into the role, Connor Bryan brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience. Before playing for the Rebels, Coach Bryan was an Offensive Lineman at the University of Calgary and then played for the Westshore Rebels from 2014 to 2016 before continuing his football career at Bishop’s University in 2017. Since 2022, Bryan has been an integral part of the Rebels' coaching staff, serving as the Offensive Line Coach, Recruiting Coordinator, and Run Game Coordinator.
“We are thrilled to have Coach Bryan take the reins of our program,” said Rob Lervold President and Director of Football Operations. “His experience as both a player and a coach within our organization, along with his deep understanding of our culture and goals, makes him the perfect leader to continue building our team’s success.”
Coach Bryan is eager to take on the challenge and lead the Rebels into the 2025 season. “I’m incredibly honoured to be named Head Coach of the Westshore Rebels,” said Bryan. “This organization has been a huge part of my life, and I’m excited to continue its legacy of excellence. I look forward to working with our players, staff, and community to bring a championship to Westshore.”
The Westshore Rebels are committed to continuing their tradition of excellence and development both on and off the field. With Coach Bryan at the helm, the team is poised for another exciting season in the BC Football Conference of the Canadian Junior Football League.
